Lot 435 Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine
Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine, #D8868, .32-20 cal., 20'' round barrel with 1/2 magazine tube, blue and case hardened finish, straight grip walnut stock and forend, checkered hard rubber Marlin buttplate, pinned blade front sight, and folding carbine ladder rear sight. Mfg'd 1947. Rifle is in overall very good condition, displaying approx. 90% blue, showing mild frosting on the barrel, and spot of moderate oxidation near the muzzle. Case colors show muting and toning, but still a considerable amount remain, and are stronger on the left side. Receiver and lever with intermittent mild frosting and light erosion, particularly on the left side. Factory markings are crisp. Wood is good as revarnished, with almost all the finish having been removed from right side of the buttstock; spots of flaking to finish on the forend. The most noticeable blemish is an impression to the lower right edge of the buttstock. Action is crisp and functions smoothly. Bore rates near excellent and is bright throughout with defined rifling.
