Lot 434 Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine
Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine, #444752, .38-40 cal., 20'' round barrel with half-magazine, blued finish, straight grip walnut stock and forend, crescent steel buttplate, pinned blade front sight, and folding carbine ladder rear sight. Includes an adjustable ''Climbing Lyman'' peep sight mounted to left side of the receiver. Mfg'd circa 1930's. Rifle is in good condition, retaining approx. 40% thinning and toning blue, with the balance mostly gray mixed with brown patina. Factory markings are crisp. Wood is very good, with scattered moderate dents and scratches, mainly on the left side. The initials ''C.L.B.'' are stamped on the underside of the buttstock, below the lower tang. Action is crisp and functions smoothly. Bore is bright throughout with near excellent, well-defined rifling. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
