Marlin Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle, #133091, .40-65 WCF cal., octagonal barrel has been shortened to 23'' and has 3/4-length magazine tube, metal with a blue and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut straight grip stock and forend, ends with a smooth crescent buttplate, providing a 13'' LOP. Sights include a dovetailed ivory bead blade front and buckhorn rear. Mfg'd 1896. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 30%-40% thinning finish on the barrel, with sharp edges, and areas of moderate erosion. Magazine tube has drifted to dull gray. Receiver, lever, and hammer display silvered color case hardened finish, with brighter colors in the protected areas. Top of the receiver is marked ''MARLIN SAFETY''. Tang is drilled and tapped with one screw missing. Stock is in good condition with scattered indentations, and an old coat of added varnish. Buttplate shows silvered color case hardened finish with moderate surface erosion. Action is crisp and functions well. Bore is fair with visible rifling, but has moderate erosion scattered throughout. Est.: $900-$1,200. (Antique)
