Frank Wesson Medium Frame Superposed Pistol, #1239, .32 RF short cal., 2.5'' swiveling dual octagon barrels,, no finish to the barrel assembly & small parts, case hardened trigger, and hammer; brass frame and grip screw escutcheons. Two-piece smooth hardwood grips, fixed blade brass front sight on each barrel, with ''U''-notched rear sight in top of the frame. Maker's information is faintly marked on rear barrel flat. Approx. 3,000 Mfg'd circa 1868-1880. Overall condition of this pistol is good, with an even dark patina to the barrel assembly and small parts, with scattered mild pitting. There are hints of case color to the trigger/hammer, with taffy colored patina to the brass frame. Grips are fine, retaining the majority of their rich oil finish, showing light handling marks. Action is crisp. Bore/rifling are fair with spots of moderate erosion. Est.: $500-$700. (Antique)
