Antique Brazilian Model 1894 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #E3095, 7x57mm cal., 29.25'' barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock and handguard, dovetailed inverted-''V'' front sight, and adjustable folding leaf rear sight with ''V''-notch, graduated to 2000 meters. Includes steel cleaning rod and an unmarked black leather military sling. Sling is in good used condition, showing general age and wear. Top of the receiver ring is faintly marked with Brazilian crest. Left side receiver rail is marked ''ESTADOS UNIDOS DO BRAZIL./MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN 1894''. There is a faint cartouche stamped into left side of the buttstock. Numbers do not match. Condition overall is fair, retaining little finish; metal shows wear, patina, and evidence of cleaning. There are areas of deep erosion on the bolt handle and bolt body, with a few additional smaller spots on the barrel. Wood has been sanded and stained over old handling marks, now in good condition. Additionally, there is a very fine hairline crack at the upper buttplate tang. Action functions well. Rifling is clearly visible but the bore is dark and frosted throughout. Est.: $250-$400. (Antique)
