Lot 399 WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol

WWII Japanese Type 14 Nambu Semi-Automatic Pistol, #13906, 8x22mm Nambu cal., 4.61'' barrel, blued finish, grooved hardwood grips, dovetailed blade front sight and fixed rear sight with trapezoidal notch. There is a fixed lanyard loop on the rear of the frame. Includes one blued steel magazine with aluminum floorplatenumbered (703) but does not match this pistol. Pistol is marked with Japanese characters for ''Type 14'' on left side of the slide; Nagoya Arsenal maker's mark on the right side. Right side of the frame is marked with Showa ''18.4'', indicating production in April 1943. Matching visible numbers. No import marks. Condition overall is very good+, retaining approx. 85% blue, showing brown toning and thinning across parts of the barrel and receiver. Grips with scattered handling marks and impressions to both sides. Action operates smoothly. There is an area of pitting to right side of the bore; otherwise, bright with very good, defined rifling.
