Early French Occupation SVW 45 P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #6630g, 9mm cal., 4.9'' barrel, blued finish, grooved black plastic grips, dovetailed blade front sight, fixed rear sight with ''U''-notch, and lanyard loop on the left side of the grip frame. Includes one post-war blued magazine, marked ''(Walther banner)P38 9mm'' on the left side, and ''8/61'' on the spine. Pistol is marked ''P.38'' and ''SVW/45'' on the left side slide; French ''(five-pointed star)'' on the right side. Left side of the frame is marked ''6630g''. Left side of the barrel is marked ''(Eagle)/WaA135'' with a French ''(five-pointed star)'' and there is a ''(five pointed star)'' on the phosphate finished locking block. Matching numbers. No visible import marks. ''g'' block'' serial numbered pistols were the first P.38s produced by the French at the occupied Mauser plant after World War II. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 92%+ blue, showing high point and operating wear, with darker toning to the front grip strap. Grips shows moderate age and wear, more on the right side. Action, slide stop, and hammer drop function smoothly. Bore shows very light frosting, otherwise rates very good with defined rifling.
