Mauser byf 43 P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #6699q, 9mm cal., 4.9'' barrel, blued finish, grooved dark red Bakelite grips, dovetailed blade front sight, fixed rear sight with ''U''-notch, and lanyard loop on the left side of the grip frame. There is no magazine. Left side of the slide marked ''P.38'' and ''byf/43''; right side with ''(Eagle)WaA135''/(Nazi Eagle firing proof)/(Eagle)WaA135'' final inspection stamp. Left side of the frame is marked ''6699q'' and ''(Eagle)WaA135''. Left side of the barrel is also stamped ''(Eagle)WaA135'' with a ''(Nazi Eagle)'' firing proof. Blued locking block is stamped ''(Eagle)/88'' for production at Spreewerk. Matching numbers on frame and slide; locking block does not match. Number has been removed from the front of the barrel. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 85% blue, with fine pitting to the front left side of the slide and larger spots of patina to the right side. There is also wear and patina spots to the underside of the frame and front grip strap. Grips are very good, showing moderate age and handling wear. Action, slide stop, and hammer drop function smoothly. Bright bore rates excellent with well-defined rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R/PPT)
