Antique Italian M1870/87 Vetterli Vitali Bolt Action Rifle, #WW5987, 10.4x47Rmm cal., 33.6'' barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, inverted-''V'' front sight, and adjustable rear sight with ''V''-notch, graduated to 1800 meters. Includes steel cleaning rod and black leather sling. Sling is about good overall, showing age and wear. Rifle is marked ''TORRE ANNUNZIATA'' and import stamped ''MADE IN ITALY'' on the barrel shank; dated ''1883''on the left side. Condition overall is good; metal is dark and partially covered in a flaking varnish. There is wear and brown toning to the barrel bands, magazine, and buttplate. Wood with an added coat of finish, now in good condition, with general wear and darkening. Action operates smoothly. Bore rates fair with visible but worn rifling and would benefit from thorough cleaning. Est.: $300-$500. (Antique)
