Brazilian Contract Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector Model of 1917 Double Action Revolver, #208698, .45 ACP cal., 5.5'' barrel, blue finish, checkered rubber two-piece Pachmayr Presentation grips, half-round blade front and fixed U-notch rear sights, with color case hardened hammer and trigger, and 5-screw frame. All-matching visible serial numbers. Factory markings are clear, with Brazilian National Coat of Arms and 1937 contract date on the right side of the frame. Revolver is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 80%-85% thinning finish with wear at the muzzle, scattered scrapes and scratches. Cylinder shows leading edgewear, some mild surface erosion, with a faint index line. Grips show moderate age and handling wear. Action functions well and locks up securely. Bore is very good with minor erosion and well-defined rifling. One of the approx 37,000 sold to Brazil in 1937. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
