U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1899 Krag Bolt Action Carbine, #348499, .30-40 Krag cal., 22'' barrel, blued finish, walnut stock, blade front sight, and M1896 rifle rear sight. Receiver is marked ''U.S./MODEL 1899 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 348499'' on the left side. Rifle is in good overall condition. There is considerable blue on the barrel but the receiver area has gone to gray with patina. Stock is very good and marked with a ''2'' behind the trigger guard. There are intermittent scattered scratches, including a slightly larger impression on left side of the buttstock; buttplate shows rust. Action works properly. Barrel has a fair bore with wear to the rifling and light frosting. Est.: $800-$1,100. (C&R)
