Lot 294 1913 Dated DWM P.08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol

1913 Dated DWM P.08 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #899a, 9mm cal., 4'' barrel, rust blue finish, straw colored small parts, checkered walnut grips, inverted-''V'' front sight, fixed rear sight with small ''V''-notched groove, no stock lug or grip safety. Includes one mis-matched nickel plated magazine with wood base, faintly numbered ''133+'' on the base, no other markings. Pistol is marked ''DWM'' on toggle with ''1913'' date on top of chamber. Right side of receiver with three '' (crown)/script letter'' military proofs and test fire proof mark. Most of the numbered parts are matching, including both grips. Toggle pin does not match and the numbers on the takedown lever are stamped upside down. Safety bar and firing pin are not numbered. Condition is fine to near excellent, with the top end showing signs of professional restoration; retaining approx. 95% blue, showing light wear at the muzzle; light wear and frosting to the front and backstrap. Grip screws are replacements and the straw colored parts show evidence of enhancement and nearly all the colors remain. Factory lettering and proof marks are clear. Grips show typical moderate handling wear, no significant blemishes. Action and hold open function properly. Rifling is worn but visible and the bore is lightly pitted throughout. Magazine body shows moderate yellow toning and there are tool marks to the right side near the pin that holds the base in place; base with small dents and scratches.
