Mauser byf 41 ''Black Widow'' Luger with Genschow 1938 Dated Holster, #7820v, 9mm, 4'' barrel, dark blued finish including small parts, checkered black plastic grips, inverted-''V'' front and fixed rear sight with small ''V''-notch, and stock lug. With one blued steel magazine with black plastic base; left side of the body is marked ''fxo'', ''(eagle)37'', and ''P.08''. Includes a 1938 dated black leather ''Genschow & Co., Berlin'' marked holster, ''42'' code Luger tool, and an extra post-war magazine. Magazine has a bright plated body, plastic base, and the spine is marked ''Erma/Made In Germany''. The pistols toggle is marked ''byf'' and ''41'' above the chamber. Right side of receiver and barrel with Nazi eagle firing proofs; right side of receiver also has two ''(eagle)655'' acceptance marks. There is also a small ''(eagle)655'' on left side of the barrel. Left side of the frame is marked ''P.08''. All visible matching numbers. Pistol is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 93%-94% original blue; displaying moderate holster wear at the muzzle and high points, small spot of wear to the front grip strap, and wear to the stock lug. There are intermittent specks of mild frosting on the front and backstrap. Factory lettering and proof marks are clear. Grips show moderate handling wear, which is more noticeable at the bottom of the left panel; no chips or cracks. Action and hold open function properly. There is very mild pitting scattered throughout the bore; otherwise, bright with very good, defined rifling. Original magazine has a little normal light scratching and rub wear to the body. Extra post-war magazine appears to be in near excellent condition but the body is heavily greased. Holster is in good condition, with age cracking scattered throughout, heavier on the backside. Maker's marks and date are legible; Waffenamt barely visible. Stitching is complete. Pull strap is present and functions properly. Est.: $2,500-$3,000. (C&R/PPT)
