^Lot 269 U.S. Springfield Armory U.S. M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle

U.S. Springfield Armory M1 Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle, #759919, .30-06 cal., 24'' barrel, parkerized finish, walnut stock, blade front sight with ears, and adjustable WWII flush nut rear peep sight. Included are an M1907 leather sling and a plastic oiler with M10 tools. The sling shows wear and some crazing. Receiver is marked ''U.S. RIFLE/CAL. .30 M1/SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/759919''. Rifle is in very good condition. Parkerizing shows overall wear and patina, heavier on the op-rod and buttplate, still majority remains. Stock has a circled ''P'' on the pistol grip and is very good, with scattered light handling marks. Additionally, there are uniform horizontal and diagonal scratches/marks to left side of the forend, which appear intentionally applied. Action works properly. Barrel has a faint ''S-A-7-42'' marking under the op-rod; bore is fair, showing light pitting; throat erosion: 5, muzzle is weak at 3+. No visible import marks. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (C&R/PPT)
