Union Switch & Signal U.S. Army Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #1082148, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, Du-lite finish, checkered plastic grips, blade front sight, and ''U''-notch rear sight. Includes one unmarked magazine. Made in 1943. Receiver is marked with circled ''RCD'' (Lt. Col. Robert C. Downie) with a ''P'' on the left side, and ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY/No 1082148'' with ''M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY'' on the right. Slide has the ''U S & S'' logo with ''U.S. & S. CO./SWISSVALE, PA. U.S.A.'' on the left side, and a ''P'' on top. Blued barrel is marked ''HS'' with a ''P''. Pistol in in good condition overall. Du-lite finish has gone to dull gray throughout, with scattered spots of staining, pitting, and light rust on the mainspring housing. Barrel bushing is blued and looks newer. Plastic grips are near excellent and may be replacements. Action works properly. Bore and rifling are very good, with a little mild frosting visible. Est.: $3,000-$4,000. (C&R/PPT)
