Colt U.S. Army Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #141025, .45 ACP cal., 5'' barrel, blued finish, checkered walnut grips, blade front sight, and ''U''-notch rear sight. No magazine. Made in 1917. Receiver is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'' with ''GHS'' (Maj. Gilbert H. Stewart) on the left, and ''No 141025'' on the right, with an ''H'' on the back. Slide has patent dates to ''AUG. 19, 1913'' then ''COLT'S PT. FA. MFG. Co./HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'', with an un-circled ''(Rampant Colt)'' near the back left side, and an ''H'' at the back. Barrel is marked H P on the hood. Pistol is in good overall condition. Finish is approx. 40%-45%, with heavy wear and patina on the grip area and the slide. The diamond grips are good, with handling marks, showing age and wear, mostly on the left panel. Action works properly. Bore is very good with defined rifling. Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (C&R/PPT)
