Lot 197 Belgian Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade Over/Under Shotgun

Belgian Browning Superposed Pigeon Grade Over/Under Shotgun, #55329S6, 12 ga., 28'' barrels have a ventilated rib with silver bead front sight, 2-3/4'' chambers, and are choked Mod/Full. The superposed action has underlug lockup, single selective inertia trigger, non-automatic safety, and selective ejectors. Engraved French gray receiver; left and right side both feature two engraved pigeons in flight and are surrounded by extensive floral scroll engraving. Beautifully figured round knob long tang pistol grip stock are skipline checkered with hand carved detail, and vented black rubber Pachmayr recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2'' x 1-1/2'' x 2-1/8''. Manufactured in 1966. Shotgun is in near excellent condition overall. Barrels retain approx. 96% factory blue, showing light wear to the underside of the bottom barrel, from sliding the forend forward; few tiny nicks to edge of the ventilated rib. Bottom of the receiver and trigger guard with a few dark specks and minor handling marks; lower tang shows light finish wear; factory lettering and engraving remains crisp. Forend with one more noticeable impression near the retaining screw. Otherwise, wood has only a few light handling marks, light scuffs to sides of the buttstock; no significant wear to the finish. Recoil pad is soft and pliable. Action functions very smoothly and locks up tight. Bores are bright. Est.: $2,500-$3,500. (C&R/PPT)
