Lot 196 Very Late Winchester Model 101 Diamond Grade Skeet Model Over/Under Shotgun

Very Late Winchester Model 101 Diamond Grade Skeet Model Over/Under Shotgun, #DG284162E. 27-1/2'' .410 bore shotgun barrels have a slotted divider plus an elevated, tapered vent rib with target beads, 2-1/2'' chambers, and fixed skeet chokes. The vent rib looks canted but has a fixed elevation of 3/4'' to assure level holds. The action is pure model 101, and features a solid underlug for rigidity, single selective mechanical trigger, adjustable for length of pull, non-automatic safety, and selective ejectors. The receiver, forend iron, trigger guard, opening lever, and upper tang are all engraved, satin-finish, with diamond as center fixture, with elaborate scroll, Winchester and diamond grade logos. The beavertail forend with finger grooves, and the full pistol grip/Monte Carlo buttstock are high-gloss finished ''C'' grade walnut, with hand checkering at 24 LPI, no grip cap, two black inlaid diamonds, and a black Winchester skeet recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14'' x 1-1/2'' x 1-1/2''. The gun is contained in a very nice ''Diamond Grade'' imprinted, leather-bound hard case, with two Cadmium-Plated .410 dummy shotshells. The gun was completed in 1987 by Nikko in Japan for Winchester. Condition is near excellent, with very few handling marks to the wood, and virtually no wear to the receiver. Barrels retain approx. 99% blue. The action shows no malfunctions for the shot shells, and the barrels close very tight into the breech, with perfect functioning of the ammo. Bores are bright under light powder residue. Really a fun .410 skeet gun.Est.: $1,800-$2,200. (Modern/PPT)
