Lot 195 Browning Superposed Grade 1 Lightning Over/Under Shotgun

Browning Superposed Grade 1 Lightning Over/Under Shotgun, #4445V73, 20 ga., 28'' vent rib special steel barrels have target beads, 2-3/4'' chambers, and are choked SKT/SKT. The action uses a single underlug as lockup, and features a single selective mechanical trigger, non-automatic safety, and selective ejectors. The blued receiver is nicely engraved with Browning scrolls. The beavertail forend with finger grooves and flat knob long tang buttstock are high gloss ''B'' grade European walnut with hand checkering at 20 LPI, no grip cap, and a Pachmayr ''White Line'' skeet recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14-1/8'' x 1-3/4'' x 2''. Gun was made in 1973 by FN in Belgium for Browning. Gun is contained in an early fitted Browning tan Naugahyde case, with keys. Condition is near excellent for a 50-year-old target gun. The wood shows only a few minor handling marks, and presents a strong longitudinal grain, there are no splits or chips present, checkering shows very positive grips. The receiver has a small amount of edgewear at carry points and lower tang; overall approx. 95%+ factory blue remains. Despite its age the action locks up very tight and functions perfectly; the bores are mirror bright. An excellent gun for skeet or upland bird hunting. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
