Custom Roy Gradle Glaser Heeren System Single Shot Rifle, #270, .22 LR cal., 28'' heavy Roy Gradle barrel, blue finish, smooth walnut pistol grip target stock with sling swivels and exaggerated comb, 2'' wide beavertail forend, two (2) sight blocks on the barrel, with an added trigger shoe. Buttstock ends with a Roy Gradle recoil pad, providing a 14'' LOP. Factory markings are clear, with ''HEEREN SYSTEM / W. GLASER'' on top of the action, and ''ROY GRADLE'' on the barrel. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 95%-96% thinning finish with light wear at the muzzle, minor marks, and light scratches. Stock with intermittent indentations and storage marks. Action is crisp and functions smoothly. Bore is near excellent with well-defined rifling. Wilhelm Glaser was a noted Swiss gunsmith/gunshop owner in Zurich, Switzerland who began building custom rifles on Heeren actions, built by the Omega Watch Co. in the late 1940's. Roy Gradle was a noted Santa Barbara gunsmith in the 1950's and 60's. An interesting rifle that deserves further research. Est. : $1,500-$2,000. (Modern/PPT)
