Custom Pre-64 Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle, #483731, .264 Win. Mag. cal., 26'' barrel, with blue finish. The custom checkered walnut one-piece ''Super Grade'' pistol grip stock features a modified comb and cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, Winchester grip cap, sling swivels, tooled leather Bianchi Cobra rifle sling, and ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 13'' LOP. There is no provision for a front sight, with a replacement folding rear sight in the original dovetail. Bolt is etched with the matching serial number. Leupold two-piece bases have been added. Factory markings are clear, with Winchester ''WP'' proofs on the left side of the barrel and receiver. Mfg'd 1960. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 95% toning finish, with light wear at the muzzle, intermittent scuffs and handling marks. Edgewear to the floorplate and trigger guard accounts for much of the finish loss. Stock is in very good condition as professionally shortened and modified, with scattered moderate indentations and scratches. Checkering on left side of the wrist shows more smoothing. Action functions smoothly. Bore rates very good+ overall, and is clean, displaying defined rifling. Est.: $900-$1,200. (C&R)
