Cased Colt Single Action Army Sam Colt Sesquicentennial (1814-1964) Single Action Revolver, #497SC, .45 LC cal., 7.5'' barrel, dark blue and nickel finish, smooth wood grips with silver Colt medallions, and standard fixed sights. Cylinder features commemorative roll engraving. Left side of the barrel is marked ''1814 COL. SAML COLT SESQUICENTENNIAL MODEL 1964''. In the original wood presentation case with plaque on the lid, fitted maroon interior, commemorative medallion, twelve (12) spent nickel plated shell cases, and a copy of The Arms Collection of Colonel Colt by R.L. Wilson. Revolver is in excellent overall condition, retaining approx. 99%+ factory blue. There is no flaking or loss of the nickel finish but the cylinder shows light rub marks, some minor scratches, and moderate turn line. Grips are excellent with bright medallions. Action is crisp and cycles smoothly. Bore is mirror bright with excellent rifling. Exterior of the case rates fine overall, with a few scuffs and scratches, most noticeable are two scratches to the lower right corner of the lid. Case interior, book, medallion, and shell cases are all in excellent condition. Book dustcover shows light edgewear. One of 4,750 produced in 1964. Est.: $1,200-1,800. (C&R/PPT)
