Deluxe Winchester Model 71 Lever Action Carbine, #13933, .348 Win. cal., 20'' barrel with 3/4-magazine; checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forend with super grade sling swivels, Winchester hard rubber grip cap, period military style leather rifle sling, ending with a Decelerator pad, providing a 13-1/8'' LOP to end of pad; 12.1'' to end of wood. Hooded ramped brass tipped blade front sight, rear sight removed and filled with dovetailed sight blank, and bolt peep sight. Early features include long tang, uncrowned muzzle face that is in the white, checkered hammer, Winchester marked grip cap, early type barrel address, receiver was not drilled and tapped when it left the factory. Markings are clear with Winchester ''WP'' proof on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Topped with a Weaver T-6 side mount, rings, and an El Paso Weaver Model 330 fixed power rifle scope with blue finish, post and fine crosshair reticle. Left side of the scope tube shows finish loss and discoloration; optics are clear. Mfg'd 1937. Rifle is in very good overall condition, show signs of age and field use, retaining approx. 90% thinning finish with light wear at the muzzle, scratches, and minor marks along the barrel and magazine. Receiver shows high point edge wear, some light scratches, and worn finish on the underside and on the lever. Sides of the receiver with general mild pin prick blemishes and specks of oxidation. Stock with general dents, scratches, and some flattening of the checkering pattern; length of pull has been shortened to accommodate the thick recoil pad. Action functions smoothly and locks up securely. Bore rates near excellent overall and is bright throughout with well-defined rifling. Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (C&R/PPT)
