Target Modified Remington Model 1871 Rolling Block Pistol, #2039, .22 LR caliber, 10'' half-round/half-octagon sleeved barrel, blued finish, checkered hardwood one-piece walnut grip and forend, modern brass beaded blade front sight, and ''U''-notched rear sight cut into the top of the frame, with a checkered trigger, and extractor. There are a ''P'' and ''S'' inspector's markings on the left side of the frame and it is marked in two-lines with makers information and ''April 17th 1866'' last patent date. Underside of the barrel is marked ''.22 LR''. Top of the barrel, behind the front sight is marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILLION, N.Y. U.S.A.'' Inside of the grip with matching ''2039'', forend is marked ''30'', and ''1107'' on the barrel . Matching assembly numbers on left side of the grip straps. Pistol is in good to very good overall condition, retaining approx. 70% thinning and toning blue; matte reblued finish on the barrel was applied over mild pitting. There is more noticeable wear on and around the front sight. Factory lettering and inspector's marks are clear. Grip and forend are very good, showing moderate age and handling wear, most noticeable on the lower power of the right side grip. Action is crisp and functions smoothly.
