Marlin Model 1889 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, #107650, .44 W.C.F. cal., 20'' round barrel, blue finish, smooth walnut forend and straight grip stock, blued crescent carbine style buttplate, second variation carbine blade front sight, folding adjustable ladder rear sight, saddle ring with leather thong, and leather wrapped lever handle. Factory markings are clear, with sharp barrel address, marked ''MARLIN SAFETY'' on top of the receiver. Mfg'd 1894. Carbine is in good to very good overall condition, retaining approx. 60% blue, showing general wear and toning, light surface erosion and frosting. Receiver shows considerable original finish on the right side, with the left side showing cleaning and traces of finish around the saddle ring stud. There is high point edgewear and knackering on the right side. Hammer and lever show dull, muted case hardening. Tang is drilled and tapped with the holes filled by screws. Stock is in good condition with indentations, showing cleaning and old coat of varnish added. There is also a small amount of wood filler visible along the left side of the upper tang. Action functions well and locks up securely. Bore is good with light to moderate erosion, and well-defined rifling. With factory letter Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
