Marlin Model 94 Lever Action Rifle, #317528, .44-40 cal., 24'' octagon barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut straight grip stock and forend, ending with a smooth blued buttplate. Front sight is a German silver knife blade with semi-buckhorn rear sight. Factory markings are clear, with a sharp barrel address. Mfg'd 1905. Rifle is in near excellent overall condition, retaining approx. 96%-97% toning finish on the barrel and magazine with wear at the muzzle, scratches, and sharp edges. Receiver, hammer, and lever retain approx. 80%-85% strong case colors, dark on left side of the receiver, showing muting to the handling areas on the lever. Breech bolt retains most of the bright blue finish. Buttplate shows finish loss and patina, mainly at the heel and toe. Receiver and tang are drilled and tapped. Stock is in fine condition with scattered moderate indentations and scratches; lightly sanded and a coat of varnish added. Action functions smoothly.
