Composite Extensively Engraved ''Omnipotent'' Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver, #20178, .45 Colt cal., 7.5'' barrel, re-nickeled finish, checkered hardwood two piece grips, blade front and fixed ''V''-notch rear sight. Lanyard ring is present at the butt. Mfg'd 1887. Revolver is in excellent condition overall, as extensively and expertly provided with extensive engraving. Approx. 95% renickeled finish remains. Vine and scroll engraving plus markings are sharp. There are no visible engraver signature or initials. Grips are like new. Action functions well. Bore is bright with very good rifling. Interestingly, also included in the workmanship was an added raised panel on the left side of the barrel that reads ''OMNIPOTENT''. Records show only 154 original etched barreled (not raised lettering) Omnipotent Model 1878 revolvers can be accounted for. An original Colt, although not an original ''Omnipotent'' marked revolver. Still, this is an outstandingly beautiful piece of workmanship. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (Antique)
