Antique Marlin-Ballard Falling Block Single Shot Rifle with Lee Shaver Tang Sight, #33805, re-lined to .32-40 cal. (per consignor), 26'' octagon barrel, originally with blue and case hardened finish, walnut straight grip buttstock and forend, Beach type combination front sight, adjustable buckhorn rear sight with elevator, and L. Shaver long ranger vernier sight at the tang. Left side of the receiver with Marlin-Ballard maker/patent information. Mfg'd circa 1875-91. Overall condition of this rifle is antique good. Metal with a mixture thinning and toning blue finish and dark brown patina. There is frosting, marks from age and use scattered throughout; heavier spots of rust patina on the front half of the barrel. Wood with mostly small to medium sized dents and scratches scattered throughout; right side of the wrist with 2'' fine crack that does not appear to affect the stocks integrity. Action is crisp. Bore is bright throughout with near excellent, well-defined rifling. Lee Shaver tang sight is desirable and in near excellent used condition. Est.: $800-$1,200. (Antique)
