Deluxe Special Order Winchester Model 1885 High Wall Falling Block Single Shot Target Rifle, #104852, .32-40 Win. cal., 30'' heavy octagon barrel, blue finish; finely checkered deluxe walnut stock with a Schnabel forend, exaggerated trigger guard, and Swiss style Schuetzen buttplate, providing a 12.75'' LOP to the front trigger. Rifle also features an unmarked globe front sight, rear sight has been removed, double set-triggers, and aperture sight base on the tang. Factory markings are clear with Winchester ''WP'' proof on the receiver. Rifle is topped with two sight bases, rings (rear is adjustable), and a Lyman Targetspot 8x fixed power rifle scope with an adjustable objective, blue finish, threaded lens covers, rubber eye cup, and fine crosshair reticle. Scope is in fine condition, showing moderate age and wear, optics are clear. Mfg'd 1907. Rifle is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 92%-94% blue, with wear and fine pinprick pitting at the muzzle, few intermittent spots of erosion and patina across the barrel; edges are sharp. Receiver shows moderate edgewear, light erosion and surface rust on the top in front of the breechblock and top left edge. Lever shows muted color case hardened finish with twin finger rests. Stock is in fine condition with scattered impressions and indentations consistent with range use, displaying attractive figure and an exaggerated beaded cheekpiece. Buttplate has drifted to brown patina with age. Action functions well and locks up securely. Bore is fine with well-defined rifling. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R/PPT)
