Remington Model New Model Army Single Action Percussion Revolver, #79351, .44 cal., 8'' octagon barrel, blued finish with case colored hammer, brass trigger guard, smooth walnut grips, ''pinched'' blade front sight, and ''V''-notch rear sight. Top of barrel is marked in three-lines "PATENTED SEPT. 14, 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION NEW YORK. U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". Matching visible numbers on left side of the grip frame, underside of the barrel, and in pencil on back of the left grip. Metal with small inspector's proofs scattered throughout. Smooth walnut grips with ''RH'' (Robert Hosmer) cartouche on left grip panel. Revolver is in very good condition, displaying approx. 70%-75% blued finish, with several scattered spots of light pitting and patina, confined mostly to the right side of the gun. Factory markings are clear. Grips are fine with a sharp inspector cartouche. Action strong and cycles smoothly. Bore is bright throughout with well-defined rifling. Est.: $1,200-$1,500. (Antique)
