Composite Colt Single Action Army Artillery Type Revolver with D.F.C. Inspected Frame, #62245, .45 Colt cal., 5.5'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, two-piece black hard rubber grips with Eagle and Rampant Colt logo. Standard sights include blade front and ''V''-notch rear. Lower left side of the frame is stamped ''U.S.'' with three-line patent dates, and ''D.F.C.'' inspector's mark over the frame's serial number. There is a small ''P'' on the cylinder round. No other inspector's marks visible. Top of the barrel with one-line address, and the left side is marked '''COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45''. Cylinder is numbered ''7348''. ''454'' is scratched into the back of each grip and have Colt maker's marks near the lower back edge. Loading gate with assembly number ''1304''. Frame Mfg'd circa 1881, with updated barrel assembly and trigger guard/backstrap. Overall condition fine, displaying approx. 92% blue with wear at the muzzle, edges of the cylinder, and bottom edge of the backstrap. Approx. 50% muted and toning case colors remain on the frame, with areas of very mild pitting. Markings on the barrel are crisp. ''D.F.C.'' on the frame is light but legible; remaining marks on the frame are clear. Grips are excellent. Action is crisp with all four clicks. Bore rates near excellent with well-defined rifling.
