Winchester 1873 3rd Model Lever Action Rifle, #566837, .38 W.C.F. cal., 24'' round barrel, blued finish, brass cartridge lifter, straight grip walnut stock and forend, trapdoor buttplate, dovetailed blade front sight, and buckhorn rear sight. Mfg'd 1903. Rifle is in good overall condition, retaining approx. 75%-80% thinning and toning blue to the barrel and magazine tube. Receiver with traces of blue finish. Factory markings are clear. Wood has been sanded and refinished, showing some darkening, scattered dents and scratches. Action functions well. Bore is fair to good, with scattered light erosion, and worn but visible rifling.
