Scarce Martially Marked Remington-Beals Navy Model Percussion Single Action Revolver, #13818, .36 cal., 7.5'' octagon barrel, blued with color case hardened hammer, brass trigger guard, two-piece walnut grips, cone front sight, and ''V-shaped rear sight. Top of the barrel is marked in two-lines ''BEALS' PATENT, SEPT. 14, 1858/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y.'' Matching visible numbers on left side of the grip frame, back of the cylinder, and underside of the barrel. There is a ''J'' stamped on the left barrel flat and left side of the frame, as well as a small ''C'' at the left rear of the frame. Left grip with an illegible cartouche. Condition of this revolver is antique good, with scattered spots of light erosion, retaining less than 10% blue finish, primarily on the loading lever and rear of the frame. Barrel address is clear. Brass appears to have been lightly cleaned. Grips with only intermittent light handling marks, an old added coat of varnish, showing darkening at the upper edge of both panels. Action is crisp and cycles smoothly. Bore is very good with defined rifling. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)(Michael Strietbeck Collection)
