Martially Marked Remington Model 1871 Rolling Block Army Pistol, #429, .50 CF cal., 8'' round barrel, blue and case hardened finish, walnut one-piece grip and forend, fixed blade front sight, with small ''V''-notched groove located on the breechblock. There are a ''P'' and ''S'' inspector's markings on the left side of the frame and it is marked in two-lines with makers information and ''April 17th 1866'' last patent date. Left side of the grip with ''CRS'' inspector's cartouche. Matching assembly numbers ''337'' on left side of the grip straps. Inside of the grip is numbered (475) but does not match. Overall condition is good, displaying approx. 25% thinning and toning blue finish, with a few spots of moderate erosion on the barrel. Approx. 40%-45% muted and toning case colors remain, with erosion on the sides of the frame. Grip and forend are good, showing expected marks from age and use, with a clear grip cartouche. Action is crisp. Bore rates very good with defined rifling and no significant surface blemishes. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. (Antique)(Michael Strietbeck Collection)
