Scarce Engraved Remington-Beals 3rd Model Pocket Revolver, #162, .31 cal., 4'' octagon barrel, gray/brown patina, checkered hard rubber grips, silver cone front sight, and fixed ''V''-notch rear sight. Cylinder with etched scroll design. Frame with period floral scroll engraving. Barrel address is marked in two-lines "BEALS PATENT 1856 & 57, & 58./MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION, N.Y.". Matching numbers located on left side of the grip frame, underside of the barrel, and back of each grip panel. The 3rd Model was only manufactured between 1859 & 1860, with a production quantity of only approx. 1,000 . Overall condition of this revolver is good, displaying an even gray color across the metal surfaces, mixed with spots of darker patina, intermittent light pinprick pitting and mild erosion. Barrel address is clear. Engraving on the frame is crisp. Etching on the cylinder is clearly visible. Grips are near excellent, showing only minor handling marks. Action is crisp. Rifling is clearly defined; bore with moderate+ surface erosion scattered throughout. Est.: 1,000-$1,500. (Antique)(Michael Strietbeck Collection)
