Freund & Bro Marked Sharps Model 1874 Single Shot Sporting Rifle, #155467, .40 cal., 30'' heavy octagon barrel, blued and case hardened finish, walnut stock and forend, fixed front and rear sights. Top of the barrel at the breech is marked for famous frontier gunsmiths/dealers ''Freund & Bro''. Mfg'd circa 1876. This classic sporting rifle is in good, un-cleaned condition, displaying considerable muted blue finish mixed with brown patina on the barrel. Mottled gray patina to the receiver assembly. Factory markings are clear. Lower half of a few of the letters in ''Freund'' are worn. Wood is well-worn with scattered old mars and scratches from years of handling and use. Additionally, the forend shows an approx. 3'' x 1/8'' old loss to the front top on both sides. Action functions well. Bore is fair, showing expected age and wear, with good rifling, scattered spots of light erosion. Est.: $4,000-$6,000. (Antique)
