Lot 22 Colt Model 1873 U.S. Cavalry Single Action Revolver
Colt Model 1873 U.S. Cavalry Single Action Revolver, #137678, .45 Colt cal., 7.5'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, one-piece walnut grip, blade front sight, and ''U''-notch rear sight. The revolver was made in 1891 and has all matching serial numbered parts. Receiver has the two-line patent dates with ''U.S'' on the left side; ''RAC'' (Rinaldo A. Carr) and ''137678'' on the bottom. Trigger guard and backstrap are marked ''137678'' with a ''K''. Ejector housing is marked ''K'' at the front. Loading gate is marked ''622'' Cylinder is marked ''R.A.C.'' with a ''P'', and ''7678''. Barrel is marked ''COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'' on top, and ''R.A.C.'' with a ''P'' and ''7678'' on the bottom. Revolver is in very good condition overall. Case colors are visible in some of the protected areas on the receiver and hammer. Blued finish is approx. 70% with most wear on the cylinder and ejector housing. Barrel with light scratches and marks scattered throughout. Trigger guard and backstrap show evidence of an old reblued finish, now displaying some mild frosting. Feathering is visible at the front sight. Grips are faintly marked ''RAC'' on the right and ''1891/SEB'' (Capt. S.E. Blunt) on the left, which is hard to see. Grips were lightly sanded and the lower left side of the grip is chipped front and back, the right side is chipped on the front. Action locks up tight with four distinct clicks.
