U.S. Civil War Spencer Repeating Lever Action Carbine, #54617, .56-56 Spencer RF cal., 22'' round barrel with six-groove rifling, walnut stock and forend, sling bar on left side of the wrist, small silver blade front sight, and folding ladder rear sight. No Stabler cutoff. Approx. 50,000 manufactured (SN range: 11,000-61,000). Carbine is in good condition. Metal is gray with traces of silvered case colors on the receiver, with freckles of patina and mild erosion scattered throughout. Wood shows expected age and wear, with scattered moderate dents and scratches. Factory markings are partially legible. Action is crisp. Bore is bright with defined rifling and only a few specks of erosion near the muzzle. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (Antique)
