Lot 2 Pair of High Quality Ornamented Percussion Pistols by G. Berleur, Liege

Pair of High Quality Ornamented Percussion Pistols, by G. Berleur, Liege, #NVSN, .60 cal., 7" octagon barrels with blade front sights, light gray metal, with polished steel rammers. Both pistols have matching skipline checkered one-piece walnut stocks with decorative steel inlays at the forend, trigger guard finial, pommel cap, and sideplates. Stocks are nicely carved along the backstrap of each gun. Left barrel flats with Liege proof marks. Lock is signed "Berleur". Both pistols are in fine condition, displaying beautifully matching patinas to metal parts. Stocks are also matching in their appearance, including retention of their rich oil finishes, expected scattered marks from age and handling. One of the pistols has a " fissure to the right side near the trigger guard. The other pistol has a similar fissure to the same side of the trigger guard, another to the right side of the forend tip, and a third to the left sideplate. None appear to affect the integrity of either of the pistols stocks. Markings are clear. Actions crisp. Both bores have very good rifling. Est.: $1,800-$2,400/pair. (Antique)
