Lot 1 Scarce Jarre, Paris, Harmonica Pistol

Scarce Jarre, Paris, Harmonica Pistol, #191, 9mm PF cal., 10-shot, 4-3/8" barrel with post front sight, blue finish, varnished European walnut grips. Matching serial numbers are located on underside of the barrel and end of the breech bar. Right side barrel flat is marked "A PARIS" with Jarre lion makers mark below; left side is marked "Jarre" in script. Near identical to the example pictured on page 33 of the book "Treasures of the NRA National Firearms Museum", by Supica, Wicklund & Schreier. Mfg'd from the late 1850s thru about 1870. Condition is near fine, with a smooth gray/brown patina to the metal, and clear markings. Grip panels show minor handling marks and oil darkening. Smoothbore is fair. Trigger spring shows minor repair. Double action trigger advances the breech bar, but the bar will not stay locked into place. Includes a spent pinfire case, marked "CD/9".
