Fall on Council Mountain original pastel painting by Artwork by Llona

Fall on Council Mountain is an original pastel painting. The inspiration for this piece came from a hike to the top of No Business in Valley County, Idaho. The weather had turned unseasonably cold and there was early snow in the mountains when the Alpine Knotweed (Polygonum phytolaccitolium) was still in full red full colors. A herd of elk were moving through the area perhaps because of the early winter that was to come. Colors and scenes in the fall are very beautiful when the sun is angling low in the sky. Council Mountain is in the Payette National Forest. Fall on Council Mountain meant to capture the feeling of wild elk on our public lands.

It is an honor to be able to contribute my work to the Idaho Wild Sheep Foundation.

Painting is 12.5x22” and is not framed.

Buyer will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs if not picked up at banquet on 3/21/26. Idaho sales tax will be added to the final bid. All sales are final.
