The Foundation for Wildlife Management is a 501c3 non profit organization whose mission is to promote ungulate population recovery in areas negatively impacted by wolves, assist state game management agencies in reaching their wolf management objectives, promote youth in the outdoors, and educate the public on the negative impact of the successful reintroduction of wolves has had on our ungulate populations.
The true value in a wolf pelt is around 20 big game animals per year for an average lifespan of 7 years.
The Foundation for Wildlife Management has funded reimbursement for over 3,000 harvested wolves which accounts for up to 75% of the wolves taken in Idaho.
At the Sheep Show in 2025, a similar pelt was sold and donated back 7 times for a grand total of $58,000.
