7-Day Altai Ibex hunt with Caprinae Safaris

You’ll be hunting in the birthplace of legends, the ancient high country where the Altai Mountains rise like ramparts. These are the same mountains that built empires and forged the young Temüjin, long before the world knew him as Genghis Khan.
This is the domain of the iconic Altai ibex. Agile, rugged, and acutely alert; they thrive where the earth folds into a maze of stone and sky. Their heavy, sweeping horns carved by weather and time symbolize endurance and strength. They are a trophy that must be earned.
Caprinae Safaris has guided numerous Weatherby and Conklin Foundation Award
winners across the Asian hunting theatre, and our experience in Mongolia dates to 1987. We are honored to support the Idaho Chapter with this premier destination.
Obsession with details will ensure a well-planned hunting experience before you ever get there. And once you’re in the capable hands of our local guiding team, they’ll work diligently to lead you to your trophy.
Caprinae Safaris will work with the winner to select dates between July 15-October 15, 2027. However, 2026 dates may be available and can be discussed prior to auction.
Included with this hunt is the trophy fee for Altai Ibex; hunting license; gun import permit; area license fees; assistance with clearing Customs; transfers from/to Ulaanbaatar airport; full board accommodation in the hunting area; professional local guide hunting on a 1:1 basis; veterinary certification for trophy; and interpreter.
We welcome other hunters and inquiries about other species available in Mongolia (Gobi Ibex, Maral Stag, and Argali) or anywhere else in Asia—the last frontier of big game hunting.
Not included: International and domestic airfares; hotels and meals before and after the hunt, if needed based on flight schedules; trophy shipment and brokerage, insurance, gratuities, optional touring, and personal expenses.
