One hunter can hunt Desert Mule Deer for 8 days (plus 2 travel days) in the remote mountain ranges of Sonora, Mexico with Sonora Desert Hunts.
This is a premium free-range experience with limited availability. This is a true free range hunt, no high fences, we have hunting access to 45,000 acres! Location is premier free-range ranches in Sonora, Mexico. Hunt style is spot-and-stalk / safari-style from vehicles and on foot. Duration: 8 hunting days (plus 2 travel days). Trophy Quality: Bucks averaging 180–200+ SCI, with potential for 220+ inch class.
Season is December – January (peak rut activity mid-January). Tag is guaranteed through outfitter – no lottery or draw system. Hunting Methods: Preferred Weapon: Rifle, with shot distances typically 150–350 yards (longer possible depending on terrain). Archery hunt is available for experienced bowhunters. Physical difficulty is moderate – hunts may include long glassing sessions, hiking ridges, or tracking.
Included: full ground transportation in Sonora from airport pickup to ranch access, comfortable lodging in fully equipped ranch houses or desert camps, all meals, snacks, soft drinks, and bottled water, bilingual, professional guides with optics and field experience, field caping, trophy preparation and meat care, hunting license, tags, and export assistance. All Mexican legal documentation and firearm importation help if needed.
NOT included: flights to Hermosillo or other arrival airport, staff gratuities, alcoholic beverages, trophy export/taxidermy/shipping.
Our hunts meet SCI entry standards and are conducted under fair chase principles. We only operate on well-managed private ranches where conservation, habitat health, and trophy quality are top priorities.
Booking & Prime Dates: Desert Mule Deer tags are guaranteed and demand is high due to trophy quality and limited access. Best hunting dates: December 10 – January 30 with peak rut: typically January 10–25.
