NEW ZEALAND RED STAG HUNT
Waitomo Caves North Island, New Zealand:
5 Day Guided Red Stag and Fallow Deer Hunt for 2 hunters.
Established in 1987; Mungunui Lodge offers premium hunting grounds with big game including some of the largest Red Stag in the southern hemisphere. Based in the heart of the Waikato, our Waitomo based operation features some of the best terrain the district has to offer including privately owned native and views of the Tasman Sea.
Included:
• Trophy fees for 1 Red Stag up to 273 SCI and 1 Management Fallow Deer (average Red Stag taken is
230 SCI if not upgraded).
• Accommodations at the Mungunui Luxury Hunting Lodge with all meals and beverages.
• Guide, Trophy Prep and transport to shipper.
Hunt Dates: March-June, 2026 or 2027 (April is the Red Stag rut).
Hunt Arrival and Departure Point: Hamilton Airport or Rotorua Airport.
Transportation During Hunt: Foot and ATV.
Weapons: Rifle, Bow, Crossbow or Muzzleloader (bow hunting is extremely difficult as spot & stalk is used only).
Not Included:
• Accommodations before or after the hunt along with international or domestic travel.
This hunt can be upgraded with additional hunting days, Larger Stags, Tahr and Chamois along with after the hunt tours of the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Marokopa Falls, Natural Land Bridge & The Otorohanga Kiwi House can be added.
Additional hunters are welcome pending on availability.
This hunt cannot be combined with any other Mungunui Lodge Hunt or New Zealand Hunt without prior approval.
