Lot 11 Private Land Mule Deer Hunt in Colorado’s GMU-55
Gunnison Country Outfitters (GCO) is a hunting outfitter located in Gunnison, Colorado, established in 1986. Owners Tristan Spezze and Brevin Book grew up hunting in the renowned Gunnison Basin, and each have over 15 years of experience in the area. GCO’s passion and expertise lie in hunting trophy mule deer and elk. Colorado —and specifically the Gunnison Basin — is known for its healthy mule deer herd and potential for producing exceptional bucks. For this reason, GCO is pleased to offer an allinclusive mule deer buck hunt in GMU 55 during the rifle season. This hunt is being donated to the NWTF to support their continued conservation efforts and the protection of our hunting heritage.
This hunt does include the mule deer tag; however, it is contingent upon our partnered landowner, AEI Outfitter, obtaining the coveted mule deer tag through the landowner preference point system. AEI Outfitter will not receive draw results until June of each year. For this reason, the hunt will be guaranteed for the fall of either 2026 or 2027, pending the draw. Including the tag makes this a unique and highly valuable hunt. This hunt is especially desirable, as it typically takes applicants 5–10 years to draw one of these mule deer tags.
The Hunt
This is a spot-and-stalk hunt in which hunters will spend most of the day glassing, covering country, and sorting through mule deer bucks for the right one. Combined with the crisp fall air and the scenic backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, this hunt promises to be an unforgettable experience. Hunters will stay in our lodge-style Airbnb in the town of Gunnison and enjoy excellent meals prepared by our chef. The hunt includes five full days of hunting with a six-night stay. This package is offered to one hunter, with the option of bringing one non-hunting guest. The hunter will have a reserved spot during the fall of 2026 or 2027, depending on tag availability and the winner’s schedule.
