Lot 499 STELTER MFG: Hand-Forged Damascus Bowie Knife with Carved African Blackwood Handle

This Damascus Bowie is hand-forged from 300 layers of high carbon steel. The guard is forged integral to the blade - an incredibly challenging but rewarding process that gives the knife a tough yet sleek profile. The handle is carved from African Blackwood, one of the densest and most stable natural woods available. This knife honors the legacy of these massive blades over the last two centuries in Africa and the Americas, where they were essential tools for settlers and explorers. The piece features a 10" blade with a thick spine and convex edge, while the carved, outward-tapering handle provides an excellent grip. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece built by Will Stelter.

Features include 300 layer 2080/15n20 Damascus 11" blade; integral double lug guard; carved African Blackwood handle and measures 17" overall.
