^Lot 4438 VICTORIAN REPRODUCTION GERMAN LANDSKNECHTE

TWO HANDED SWORD WITH A FLAMBERGE BLADE.The overall length of this ornate two handed sword is 69 1/2" with a 51" blade and an 18 1/2" hilt. The flamberge blade is quite striking with its numerous undulations. There is an 8" downward facing crescent 9" from the hilt. The massive 22" crossguard has two concentric loops at the center of each side. The mushroom like pummel is fluted and there is a red cotton fringed ornament below the pummel and above the guard. The two section dark wood grip has two fleur de lis on each side along with a number of brass studs. CONDITION: The blade, crossguard and pummel have a medium grade patina. The grip shows light wear and the fringed ornaments show some losses. (02-25832/BF) $400-600.
