Lot 4434 18TH CENTURY SILVER HILTED SMALL SWORD.
A nice example of a silver hilted small sword of the late 18th or early 19th century measuring 40 1/2" overall with a plain single fullered blade stamped "2" on the ricasso. The hilt is either a lower grade silver or silver plate, or possibly a mixture of both. The oval guard is plain, but the cross guard, quillon, and the pas d'ane have a delicate engraved design. The knuckle bow, octagonal grip, and octagonal pommel have the same delicately engraved design. No scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a light gray patina. Hilt shows light wear. (02-26071/BF). NON-GUN. $700-1,000.
