Lot 4430 WALLOON HILT BROADSWORD.
17th century with an overall length of 39.5". The blade is 34" with a 6" fuller having the "Solingen" marking on both sides within the fuller. The guard comprises of a double lobe pierced plates, hooked quillion, thumb loop and double knuckle bow. Finished with a sphere pommel. The grips have been rewrapped with a brass wiring. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have a dark mottled patina with many dings in the blade edge and rounded point. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (02-24693/ZAL) $800-1200
